Surprisingly enough, I am against a salary cap in baseball because teams should be able to build their teams however they like (plus, the union would never go for it). But baseball desperately needs to structure its revenue streams more like the NFL.

The craziest thing is that the Yankees' payroll will be about the same (or less) than last year with all the contracts they have coming off the books.

Baseball needs cap rules that follow those of football, none of this "fine for going over" business. Baseball should have a set cap and teams shouldn't be allowed to play if they're over that number.

-T

Ugh. A baseball entry? Really? Is there nothing else to write about out there in the world, Jamey? Comments on the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, maybe? (by the way, how HOT was Heidi???)

I don't give a crap about the Yankees. Or baseball. But I'll forgive you because I did love the Tneeraja post and subsequent picture :)

I hate the Yankees so much it hurts. Literally, I now have radiating waves of pain in my chest and numbness in my left arm, which I assume could only have been caused by the Yankees. How can one team hold the four largest player contracts in one sport? They represent everything that's wrong with free market baseball.
