5 Things I'm Excited About Today

  1. This screenshot/print screen software. It’s called ZScreen, and the feature I’m most excited about is that I can now click control-print screen and I can choose exactly what I want to copy on my computer screen.
  2. This guy’s online cover letter. It’s brilliant and friendly and you walk away simultaneously feeling like you know the guy and want to hire him. I want to emulate this in the standard hard-copy format.
  3. This guy’s short story, “The Variant.” Not only is it a great story, but the author sells it directly to you for 99 cents (not 1 dollar!) in a variety of formats. In subsequent entries, he discusses his experience (down to the profits) in great detail.
  4. Google Wave. Wow. It’s not out yet, but I firmly believe that this is where e-mail communication is headed. It’s kind of a mashup of Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar, but with a collaborative edge that I haven’t seen before, even from great companies like 37signals.
  5. This video (below). It’s been a while since I watched Man vs. Wild, but I am so excited to see Bear lug Will Ferrell through the artic tomorrow.
