I have the opposite gift, in that with my SUV, there are spots that I can utilize. My example is at a local 3:00 pub. They have a rather small and very poorly designed parking lot, but a section on the curb under some telephone poles deep enough for SUVs just pop in and out as they see fit. It's not a secret, but it's not accessible to low-riding sports cars and the wee little rice burners.

20 minutes at the parking ticket office downtown plus driving time. Also, 60 cents to print pictures of the barely yellow curb and 42 cents for a stamp.

You contested it? Very bold! I just paid it since I didn't want to go to court. How much time did you spend contesting it?

As a fellow small car owner and enthusiast, I would echo Anne's comment regarding our ability to park anywhere. I sometimes wish I drove a smart car so I could go even further and park perpendicular to the curb.

In response to your "formerly yellow painted curb" solution - I also once received a ticket for parking in such a spot. I contested it, and won. :)

Ha ha...this made me smile. You sound so proud of your little car! Do you do a little dance when you step out of the car after pulling into a really small space?

I can't think of a specific spot, but I drive a tiny car that allows me to park in many places that are off-limits to those with vans, SUVs, or even normal-sized cars. I can zip into a space where some jackass is halfway over the line and no one else can park there, and I still have room to open my door plenty wide. I can park in the spaces that aren't really spaces, they're just leftover room before you get to the curb because someone didn't do their division correctly. It's fun to watch people's faces when they see me slide into these kind of spaces.
