When reviewing the results of the Myers-Briggs, or any other personality test, I end up always explains what being introverted means. What I say is that in order for introverts to re-energize their batteries they need to be in quiter environments, alone, or sometimes with the closest family. Extroverts energize by going out talkin to new people and doing all of those things I generally don't want to do. Board games will always exist in some forms because they are often times "quiet" (I use that with the understanding that quiet is subjective especially when it comes to gaming), with family or loved ones, and like You said, a structured environment. Therefore it is a way for introverts to energize their batteries. Now I need to shrink back into my game of Carcassonne, I have said too much :)
