I realize I’m talking about movies on the blog a lot lately, but it’s either that or hypoallergenic cat food (based on what’s been on my mind), so I think this is the more interesting of the two topics.
I get excited about movies year-round, but that excitement heightens in the summer and in November/December. I don’t quite understand why most big movies are released during those times–do people really care about when movies are released? Or do movies simply sell more tickets in the summer because bigger movies are released in the summer? I suspect it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Anyway, there are a number of big movies coming out in the next 2 months that I can’t wait to see. Here are my top picks (including one that came out last weekend that wasn’t great, but I was previously excited about it). You can vote on your most anticipated film on the poll or name it in the comments if I didn’t mention it here.
- Ender’s Game (released last weekend; I gave it 3.5/5)
- Thor: The Dark World
- About Time (a rom com from the director of Love, Actually with a time travel twist? Count me in)
- The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
- The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
- Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
- American Hustle (I love me some Amy Adams)
Apparently I like movies with colons.
Wait, there is someone out there that is actually looking forward to Thor? C’mon, this poll must not be working
There are more coming. Dallas Buyer’s Club is already being targeted for Globe Nominations. The one I chose here, as it is similar in theme, is American Hustle. 😀 Cheers from Hollywood.
