This is the question I am pondering.
You see, “Back to the Future II” made a subtle prediction back in 1989. The future portion of the movie takes place in 2015, and in the background of one scene is a holograph congratulating the Chicago Cubs on winning the World Series.
The movie couldn’t have picked a better team to make this prediction, because when the movie came out, the Cubs hadn’t won a World Series in 81 years, and they still haven’t won a World Series 26 years later.
I’m a St. Louis Cardinals fan, so of course I want the Cardinals to beat the Cubs in the upcoming series. But…how cool would it be if Back to the Future were right?
I’ll say this: I don’t like the Cubs, and not just because I’m a Cardinals fan. But if they beat the Cardinals, I’m unequivocally rooting for them to make this Back to the Future thing happen. That’s how cool it is.
What do you think? Will Back to the Future influence whom you root for this postseason?
I’m 100% with you on this. Go Cards, but should the next series not go their way, go Back to the Future II!
Ohhhhhh, I don’t know. I’ll answer when I get my hoverboard.
