A few days ago I was eating lunch at a restaurant with a few friends when one of them mentioned a reddit thread about videos that always make people laugh. For me, the video that always comes to mind is the snowball scene in Dumb and Dumber.
The friend pulled out his phone to show us his favorite pick, a short video showing bloopers from a car commercial. A number of things go wrong while filming the commercial, but the highlight is a polar bear mascot who can’t seem to keep his footing on a hockey rink.
Slapstick humor doesn’t always do it for me because I feel really bad for the injured person, but I think I convinced myself that the guy in the bear costume has enough padding that he’s okay. I was laughing so hard in this restaurant that I was crying.
I don’t know if the video will have the same impact on you, but I highly recommend watching it through the end, just in case you get a laugh out of it.
I didn’t cry but I did laugh out loud! Not unrelated, this one does it for me (it’s after a whole episode of comedy of error type situations): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nojC6fP56VI (I could cry from laughing at almost any episode of Parks and Rec if I am in the right mood)
There’s something about ice!
Oh my, I’m glad you shared that. I love how the music keeps coming back.
I think my favorite Parks & Rec clip is Andy going to the doctor. These video doesn’t quite get it all (it doesn’t show the original injury), but it’s still great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcwfhHm7sNo
YES I love that episode. And then when they try to “dine and dash” and run into an ambulance. I do cry laughing at most Andy things. This is my top favorite line of the whole show and Chris Pratt improv’ed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LinpRhB4aWU (it’s also show creator Michael Schur’s favorite line, which validated my whole existence)
Such a good line. Andy’s oblivious sincerity is the best.
That had me laughing out loud, but not crying. I’ll tell you what made me laugh to tears is this https://www.facebook.com/viralthread/videos/696069697232383/ and it makes me breathless every single time.
Woo! I’ve never seen that before. Thanks for sharing, Sara! 🙂
