Talking About Games in My Sleep

Last night I had a vivid post-apocalyptic dream. In the middle of it, I got out of bed to use the bathroom, and when I feel back asleep, I had a different dream in which I told people about the dream I just had. Super meta. I liked it.

This was a reminder that I haven’t posted a sleep talk video in a while. You see, I discovered a while ago that I talk in my sleep, so I bought an app called Sleep Talk that records whenever I say something. It happens a few times a month, not every night.

These are 100% real things that I said while fully asleep. It’s just me and my cats–I’m not saying these things to another person. Be forewarned: It’s a little weird to listen to someone else talk in their sleep. I’ll try to quote what I’m saying so you can read instead of listen if you prefer.

Feel free to interpret these as you wish. I’m pretty sure several of them are about board games.

Have you said anything in your sleep recently or had any meta-dreams?

  1. Maybe the greatest thing I’ve ever seen on the Internet. Wasn’t aware of previous posts but I am crying … and downloading the app.

  2. I was scared it it would be too weird but curiosity got the best of me… It was actually very funny. Thank you for sharing that, Jamey. I’m thinking about downloading the app to see if I can catch myself (or my wife) sleep-talking, but I’m afraid I’ll just end up recording her complaining about my snoring!

I’ll be waiting for that upcoming game code-named “Hot Potato”. 😉

  3. Naw, I think Hot Potato is Jamey’s new nickname 😉 as the most eligible bachelor in STL. I’ve never been told I talk/mumble in my sleep, but I have been told I’ll answer the phone in my sleep and have a whole conversation without remembering anything the next day.

  4. I am very sleep animate. I talk, I get up and walk around, sometimes I have conversations. My husband always laughs because I’ll frequently get up, sleep walk to the room he is in and just stare like a horror movie. When he finally looks up I’ll go back to bed and not say anything. I didn’t know about the app, but some things that people have reminded me I said lately were: “where’s the laundry, I need to do the laundry”, “it’s burrito time”, “the body is burried in the park, hurry up or we will be late” (I promise, I am not a serial killer), and “the camel is a penguin”. I think I need to download that app though.
