Summer Movies: June

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (June 6): I had no interest in this Adam Sandler comedy until EW informed me that Emmanuelle Chriqui (Sloan in Entourage) is the leading lady. She is smoking hot, worthy of seeing on the big screen. Yeah, that’s right—I’m not above going to see a movie for a hot woman (with Caroline by my side, of course).

The Incredible Hulk (June 13): I’m not super excited about this one, but I love comic-book movies, and Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors. I’ll be there.

The Happening (June 13): There was once a time that no other movies opened on the same weekend as M. Night Shyamalan films. That time has passed. That doesn’t mean the man can’t pull some tricks out of his hat, though.

Get Smart (June 20): I’m really on the fence about this one, and I have never seen the original series. But I like Steve Carrell and might end up enjoying the movie if I give it a chance.

Wall-E (June 27): Holy moly, this is the big one. Pixar movies inspire me. Here they’ve got a movie with no dialogue in human languages—it’s all in R2-D2-speak! But it’s going to be incredible, because Pixar can tell a story like no other studio.

Wanted (June 27): This just looks fun. Angelina Jolie and some other dude. Why not?

  1. They already made a Hulk movie. Is this a sequel?

I never got into comic books as a kid, so most comic book movies are just action movies to me. Except stuff like American Splendor or Ghostworld.
