Just got back from my first David Matthews concert. Pretty amazing stuff. He ended strong with a huge performance of “All Along the Watchtower” and “Stairway to Heaven” combined together. Nancy and I, completely sober, were greatly amused by the swarms of high schoolers around us. There was one girl dancing in front of us who was a train wreck waiting to happen. I’m not going to say she maintained her dignity, but the train made it to the station all in one piece.
One of the highlights of the night for me was selecting where we parked so we could get out of Riverport quickly. We parked pretty far away across the street in one of the commercial complexes. So after a long walk, we hit a little traffic but not much before hopping on 70. There are probably still people waiting to get out of the expansive Riverport parking lot.

As a note, Watchtower and the end of Stairway are built around the same three power chords… at least when Dave plays them. I don’t knwo about the songs’ authors.
