Pet Please #112: Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

I don’t know where Cheddar Bay is, but I’d like to vacation there someday.

In the meantime, I’ll rejoice in the fact that I can now make Cheddar Bay biscuits at home. (I’ve actually tried this a number of times and gotten close, but the mix was closer than anything I’ve put together.)

Awesome!

  1. Hahaha, I bought it recently and sent a very similar photo to my mother. Our text conversation was as follows:

Me: Have you seen this revelation in the grocery store? I’ll make them soon in the name of science and report back on my findings!

Her: Yes, I have seen them and was trying to forget about them. No matter how good they are, you must promise to tell me they were terrible.

Me: Absolutely. I’m sure they will be. Total garbage probably.

I actually haven’t made mine yet, because I’m scared of how good they will be! Maybe this weekend….

    • Katie: That’s awesome. They’re really, really good. Most of it comes down to the butter garlic sauce you pour on top at the end, but the biscuit itself is great too. Make sure you have cheddar cheese on hand.

  2. Hearing people extoll the goodness of the cheddar bay biscuit (a sentiment I agree with) begs the question–would Red Lobster have folded as a franchise without this nugget of tastiness? How many of you have gone to Red Lobster over a competitor with the cheddar bay biscuits as the determining factor?

    • Trev: For me I would say that it’s the sole reason I would go to Red Lobster (I haven’t actually been there in quite some time). I consider them a step above many similar chains, and their food is decent, but it’s the biscuits that I remember and think about.

      • See, I really think Red Lobster’s marketing department is dropping the ball here. They always have commercials promoting “Endless Shrimp” or “Lobsterfest” but all they really need to do is show us the biscuits to reel us in.

A bit of biscuit porn, if you will.
