As a fan of the first Zoolander movie, I was pretty excited when I saw that the first full trailer for Zoolander 2 was released today. However, I had super low expectations for it. After all, Zoolander didn’t exactly feature the most refined humor in the first place–we’re lucky that it worked. Could it work again?
I’m happy to say that the first trailer is actually quite funny. It’s too soon to tell if it’s representative of the movie as a whole, but it has some great lines and moments that could add up to something great:
- “She’s hot–I trust her.”
- The driving scene with the selfie stick.
- The knife in the leg.
- Derrek trying to stop increasingly painful objects in mid-air with Blue Steel.
Even the bit with Mugatu made me smile. I always found that to be the weirdest and least funny part of the original movie, but maybe it’s the type of humor that gets better the more you watch it. We’ll see.
Here’s the trailer. What do you think? Worth the wait?
This was pretty awesome, but it needed more Billy Zane. He’s a cool dude.
Maybe he was busy volunteering at the “The Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can’t Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too.”
Ha ha…I hope Billy Zane is in it. I’m sure there will be some good cameos.
There humor is of a particular kind. I really liked the first movie, my wife did not… at all! I’ll definitely watch the second one, but maybe I won’t tell my wife so she doesn’t judge me 🙂
Knife in the leg has been done. I think this is a Red Box home run for me.
