For some reason I really like it when companies release a few new flavors and let people vote on their favorites. I rarely even vote–I just like the option of trying experimental stuff.
I’ve been seeing commercials about the 3 new M&M’s flavors, and I happened to stumble upon them at checkout at the grocery store today. So I bought all three and shared them at game night.
The new flavors are:
- Coffee Nut
- Honey Nut
- Chili Nut
Coffee Nut barely tastes like coffee. I was hoping for something that tasted more like a chocolate-covered coffee bean, and it wasn’t even close to that.
Honey Nut tastes like an extra-sweet M&M. It’s solid, but not memorable.
Chili Nut is interesting. It tastes like chocolate at first, then the chili hits you and stays with you for several minutes. It’s not too spicy, but it’s distinct. To my surprise, I found myself wanting more of this one than the other flavors.
Have you tried these three? Which is your favorite?
Bummer, I would want the espresso bean in there too. A-la Trader Joes Espresso / Dark Chocolate.
Chili Nut is the only one I have any interest in trying, and I almost certainly would vote for it.
I recently had a chance to try some ghost pepper white chocolate, it had a similar effect with tasting like chocolate, then had the quick hit, and had the lingering spice that stayed with you. However it wasn’t a burning sensation where you feel the need to drink something. Interesting that there are M&M’s with something similar, I’ll have to try it out as I don’t normally go looking for candy.
