Oh, West Virginia

My parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary a few months ago. We decided to celebrate as a family by getting together in the mountains of West Virginia. That’s where I’ve been for the last few days.

It was a lovely, relaxing vacation. We ate good food, lounged in the pool, barely escaped from an Escape Room, and played some board games. Also, of course, we delighted in everything that my niece and nephew did. Hence why they dominate the photos below.

My niece and nephew love being carted around in this wagon.

My niece putting candles in a delicious peanut butter and jelly cake.

I’m pretty sure I asked my niece to say “cheese”…

My nephew needed to work through dinner. Very important stuff.

Putting together a puzzle.

Lots of distractions at the playground.

My brother and sister-in-law were in full Hunger Games mode during a hike.

Do I always look this snobby?!

I don’t know what a peanut butter and jelly cake is, but I need one in my life right now.

It’s delicious! Peanut butter icing on top with layers of more icing and strawberry jelly in the middle of chocolate cake.
