New Home Tour!

As I mentioned a few days ago, my girlfriend and moved into a new-to-us condo last week. We’re still settling in, but I’m loving the new place, so I thought I’d share a brief photo tour with you.

We’ll start at the main entrance facing into the condo. I really like the open layout–the kitchen, dining room, and living room are pretty much one big room with a partition wall.

Here are a few photos of the kitchen. I love that there are two entrances to it, and that it’s pretty wide. It came with lots of nice appliances–I’m already enjoying cooking here!

Next is the dining room, which is more of a breakfast nook, but that’s okay–the game table in the living room can serve as a bigger dining table when needed. And the smaller dining table here can also be used for game night.

The patio extends off of the dining room. The cats are already very curious about this particular feature.

Here are a few photos of the living room, which is also the primary gaming area.

Attached to the living room is my office, which is also another gaming space and the primary cat room. Out of view here is my desk. Both Megan and I work from home, so we both got sit/stand desks for our new spaces.

Finally we have the bedroom and the awesome walk-in closet. One of our favorite move-in purchases was this fluffy rug from Ikea, which is also in the living room.

I love my new home, but it’s still just a place. What’s important to me is that I get to share this space with Megan and build something together with her.

What’s your favorite feature that came with your home, and your favorite feature you added?

  1. Lovely photos! Looks like a warm and inviting space to make a new home, I hope it gives you and Megan many years of happy memories.
The thing I liked best about our home when we moved in was the veranda and the thing I like the best that we added is the kids 😉

    • Love your new place. It is truly beautiful. I hope you are able to make many happy memories in your new home. The thing I love about my house is my game room. For years necessity dictated that I had to rent out that room. Now that I don’t have to, I have turned it into my game room. I have themed the room towards board games and I look forward to adding more touches all the time. I am currently waiting on some artwork that I have coming from the game Oceans, North Star’s newest Kickstarter game releasing in the beginning of the year.

  2. Looks like a great place. For me, my favorite part of the house that I got to alter was the third bedroom (on the 1st floor) into a Game Room, complete with a homemade gaming table and plenty of shelves. When I move back to Philly, Ping and I will find a place and I’m looking forward to converting some space to another Gane Room.

  3. Beautiful new home, Jamey. I’m really happy for you, Megan, Biddy, and Walter. Sure makes the old condo look spartan by comparison, not that the old place didn’t have a lot of great memories I’m sure. Do you still have stairs to run up and down from for exercise? Or do you require a new routine? 🙂

I was not a fan of the place we were living when our girls were born, but it was still a little sentimental to leave. Even though I disliked the place, and it sounds dumb, I still gave the door frame a pat on my way out and said ‘thank you for everything’.

    • Thanks Dusty! I do indeed have a nice staircase to run up and down–I did a full set yesterday, and it was great. My pull-up bar will be up this morning.
