Top 10 Games I Want to Play at Geekway 2024

Next month I’m attending Geekway to the West, a tabletop game convention here in St. Louis. For most of 4 days I’ll play published games with a variety of people, both for fun and to learn from the experiences as a designer.

I’ve been compiling a list of games I really want to try at Geekway, and as I usually do, I’m going to share it below in case you already love one of these games and want to teach and play it with me. I don’t schedule anything at Geekway–I’ve found it just doesn’t work in this convention format–but I should be easy to spot as I wander around in my bright orange Stonemaier t-shirt. I typically arrive each day around 11:30 after working in the morning.

Some of the games may be in their library, and there are probably some games in their play-and-win section that I’m unaware of. You’re also welcome to bring one of these games to Geekway if you own it, love it, and are happy to teach and play it with me.

I’ve already started talking about games I want to try, and I’m excited that specific people have already expressed interest in playing the following with me:

  • The Witcher: Old World
  • Rurik
  • Imperial Miners
  • Waffle Time
  • The White Castle
  • Come Together
  • Terrorscape
  • Thunder Road
  • Votes for Women
  • Beacon Patrol

Other new-to-me games I’d be happy to play: Fool!, Distilled, Summer Camp, Artemis Project, Stationfall, Lunar Rush

Also, similar to last year, it would be fun to play some disc golf on Saturday or Sunday morning (weather pending) at the nearby Laurel Park. Let me know if you’re interested in joining that excursion.

Would you recommend any of these games? Are there any of these games you’d also like to learn and play? I’m excited to play a bunch of them in a few weeks! Also, if you’re visiting St. Louis, here are my restaurant recommendations in a variety of categories.

  1. I have Rurik and Witcher (not sure if you were already referring about my copies), also have Summer Camp if you need me to bring it. Would definitely play Thunder Road again if you need more players. We enjoyed a quick play of it at Gen Con.

  3. Played disc golf with your group at design day and would be interested in joining in again, it was quite fun. It would be a good time to try out the Paul Salomon and Eric Sisco discs I picked up recently:)
