This is a very niche post, but it’s one of those these weird anomalies that professional sports provide on rare occasions.
Today, in a Major League Baseball game between the Blue Jays and Red Sox, the same person played for both teams in the same inning. How did it happen? See if you can figure it out before I continue.
The player is Danny Jansen, and he currently plays for the Red Sox. However, on June 26 he was the catcher for the Blue Jays, and after getting a hit for them in the second inning, the remainer of the game was postponed due to rain…until today, August 26.
Now in a Boston uniform, Jansen came to the plate in the same inning (he lined out to first, unfortunately). He batted for both teams in the same inning! How cool is that?!
Are you aware of any sports-related riddles/anomalies like this?
