Top 10 Games I Want to Play at Geekway 2025

Next month I’m attending Geekway to the West, a tabletop game convention here in St. Louis. For most of 4 days I’ll play published games with a variety of people, both for fun and to learn from the experiences as a designer.

I’ve been compiling a list of games I really want to try at Geekway, and as I usually do, I’m going to share it below in case you already love one of these games and want to teach and play it with me. I don’t schedule anything at Geekway–I’ve found it just doesn’t work in this convention format–but I should be easy to spot as I wander around in my bright orange Stonemaier t-shirt. I typically arrive each day around 11:30 after working in the morning.

Some of the games may be in their library, and there are probably some games in their play-and-win section that I’m unaware of. You’re also welcome to bring one of these games to Geekway if you own it, love it, and are happy to teach and play it with me.

I’ve already started talking about games I want to try, and I’m excited that specific people have already expressed interest in playing the following with me:

  • Unstoppable
  • Disney Animated
  • Nova Roma
  • Life of the Amazonia
  • Leviathan Wilds
  • Saltfjord
  • Wizards Cup
  • Transformers Deckbuilding Game
  • Deep Regrets
  • Rebirth

Other new-to-me games I’d be happy to play: Finca, Cosmoctopus, Shogun no Katana, Forges of Ravenshire, Colosseum, Perspectives

Also, similar to last year, it would be fun to play some disc golf on Saturday or Sunday morning (weather pending) at the nearby Laurel Park. Let me know if you’re interested in joining that excursion.

Would you recommend any of these games? Are there any of these games you’d also like to learn and play? I’m excited to play a bunch of them in a few weeks! Also, if you’re visiting St. Louis, here are my restaurant and activity recommendations in a variety of categories.

  1. I own both Animated and Leviathan Wilds, both are excellent. Maybe someday I can manage to trek my way down to St.Louis for Geekway!

  2. Nova Roma and Saltfjord are great, although the later wasn’t better imo than the OG Santa Maria.
I’m also curious what you think about Deep Regrets because I hear not so good thing from people who played it and I was at some point interested.

    • I’ve played Santa Maria and liked it (though it’s been a while). I really like the look and theme of Deep Regrets–I’ve seen a few Instagram posts from people who love it.

  3. Hey Jamey! I didn’t think I was going to make it to Geekway this year, but I guess I was wrong. I’ll be flying in Friday morning. I’ve played Rebirth once, and can probably teach it with a review of the rules, so maybe we can get in a play.

Do you have a group for disc golf already? I might have a few people who might be interested.
