Are You Watching St. Denis Medical? (My Thoughts)

St. Denis Medical is my favorite new sitcom of 2025. It’s Scrubs meets The Office (or Abbot Elementary), and I’m so glad that there’s a robust 18 episodes already (with more to follow this fall). It’s comfort food on the screen.

This 22-minute show follows the fictional adventures of the staff at a small hospital in Oregon. The characters feel familiar despite having their own quirks, personalities, and stories: There’s the boss who wants to feel included, the cocky surgeon, the fish-out-of-water nurse, etc.

For me, every episode of St. Denis Medical features multiple laugh-out-loud moments. These range from big memorable physical comedy to perfectly timed glances at the camera to brilliantly written verbal quips. It’s really, really clever.

But just like the best shows in this genre, I quickly found myself caring about the characters. I feel something in every episode, and that’s what keeps me coming back for me, even with only very minor ongoing storylines.

If you’re looking for some humorous comfort food on the screen, I highly recommend St. Denis Medical. If you’ve watched it or have a show you’re loving right now, let me know!

  1. It’s an awesome show, definitely one of my favorites of the last year. If you love this, the office, and abbot elementary, then I highly recommend you check out Superstore to tide you over until more episodes of this one arrive. It’s from the same creators as St Denis, and absolutely evokes the same laughs and emotions!
