I must admit that this Netflix movie has been completely off my radar until a friend raved about it at a recent game night (he really sold me when he said the animation studio was the same as Into the Spider-Verse). Megan and I watched it the following evening, and it’s so much fun.
The premise is that 3 KPop musicians are also demon hunters, using both traditional fighting skills and their voices (for magic). The demons are mostly mindless minions, which wouldn’t have made a great movie…but fortunately there are a few demons who have a clever plan: They start a boy band.
This is when the movie gets really fun, as the dynamic between the two music groups (and one particular pair) is really entertaining. It helps that the music is incredibly catchy, especially my favorite song, Golden.
