I’ve enjoyed season 51 of Saturday Night Live, with many of my favorite sketches coming from the Melissa McCarthy episode. However, my top 3 feature Josh O’Connor, Miles Teller, and Sabrina Carpenter.
This sketch crept up on me, and I’ve already watched it multiple times. It’s basically just a quirky character sketch, but Veronica Slowikowska’s rapid cadence is incredibly entertaining, especially her speech about Toy Story 5.
The running joke here is that there are no missing wives, just husbands who don’t pay attention.
I enjoy the main hook of this sketch more than the full execution, largely because it relies on some jump scares and creepy imagery. The key idea is that there’s nothing more horrifying than thinking you don’t have plans for the night, only to remember at the last minute that you actually have something big planned.
Do you have a favorite sketch or host so far this season?
Jamey,
Quite honestly, any Weekend Update with Sarah Sherman and Colin Jost has me laughing so hard I can’t breathe. Two weeks ago, when Sherman played the raccoon on the desk, I laughed through the entire piece…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFiEKPTaaRc

That raccoon bit was amazing! 🙂
