Is “Running Point” the New “Ted Lasso”?

Perhaps my favorite aspect of the amazing 3-season run of Ted Lasso was the kindness, empathy, and goodwill that the Ted embedded in every aspect of coaching the team. He tried to help them be the best versions of themselves–on and off the field–and that philosophy spread throughout the team.

There’s a new show on Netflix called Running Point that often feels like a basketball version of Ted Lasso, and I’m loving it for that reason. Kate Hudson plays the main character who is thrust into the role of CEO of the LA Waves (i.e., the Lakers). She’s far from a carbon copy of Ted Lasso himself, but from start to finish she makes people-first decisions. I love seeing this type of leadership.

Beyond that, Running Point is filled with other characters that grow on you (or are immediately likeable). It’s also very funny. I absolutely recommend it, especially if you enjoyed Ted Lasso. Let me know what you think!
